I have no idea what the results are, but done is done. I took the exam yesterday, had 75 questions, and was at the testing center about an hour total. Coming out, I felt dazed, and almost anti-climactic like, "This is what the last three years comes down to? That's it???" I'm still feeling that way, not like a "real" nurse at all. I do have a job interview coming up and am really hoping for the job. While it's not my first pick for what type of nursing (maybe third pick), it is at my first pick for a facility, and after a while I could always keep my eyes open for transfers. In other news, I spent the fourth (the day before the dreaded NCLEX) at the hospital with my cousin Mickey, watching in awe as she made labor and delivery look like the easiest thing in the world. She was in labor two hours, was getting ready to push when the doctor asked, "So, think you can do it in one push?" And Mickey did, just lickety split easy-as-pie. As an honorary auntie, Eric deferred the cord-cutting to me, which I really enjoyed (does that sound weird?), and I spent the rest of the day in a fog, staring at that baby and her big eyes that never closed. She was so aware from the first moment, it was almost four hours later before she started to doze. I am in love! For those who need the details: Alyssa Jo-Claire, 7 pounds exactly, 20 1/4 inches, born at 4:43pm. Pardon the crappy cell phone pictures but I have to brag!!

Lastly, I have to share my most recent purchase. She isn't done yet, she's all outlines and shading right now, and in another month or so she'll be in color. It's kinda hard to tell but that's my right calf (not arm), someplace I can hide at work! Once it's finished I'll take another picture and replace the one in the upper right corner of the "Punk Nurse" with the real deal. And yes, it hurt. Not enough to keep me from thinking about what the next one should be...
